The Queensland Conservation Council works to conserve our fragile environment and preserve this beautiful state for future generations. We DO make a difference. In the past three years alone we were succesful in:

  • the campaign to enlarge green zones on the Great Barrier Reef from 4% to 32%
  • obtaining Queensland Government commitment to enact laws to protect unique wild rivers
  • coordinating massive community support for the protection of Moreton Bay from sea cages
  • our succesful federal court action over the proposed Nathan Dam
  • negotiating a Queensland Government commitment to an additional $5 million Daintree rescue package
  • an effective reduction of the Green House pollution through Cool Communites and
  • the end of the clearing of mature bushland across Queensland
  • securing $150 million for affected landholders - 20 million hectares protected from bulldozers and countless numbers of wildlife saved.
