At the Baffle Creek CRP in late February, DNRW officers refused to confirm or deny that a dam on the Baffle was under consideration. This flew in the face of information QCC had (that a dam was under consideration with a proposal likely to go to cabinet in the imminent future). Media by TWS and QCC opened up public debate on the issue and led to the Premier announcing that no dam would be built on the Baffle. We extend our appreciation to TWS for taking the lead on the issue and getting a great result.

The EIS on Traveston closed for public submissions in mid- January. Over 1700 submissions were received by the QLD Government, almost certainly leading to a supplementary EIS, while the EPBC Federal decision still pending.
