In a carbon constrained world what options are available to fuel vital transport needs? How can Australian business adapt as we reach the end of the era of cheap oil?

Queensland Conservation is proud to present two experts in the field to give an insight into how the business of transport will have to adapt to our new reality.

The Hon. Andrew McNamara MP Minister for Sustainability, Climate Change and Innovation.

As the Member for Hervey Bay since 2001 and a Parliamentary Secretary prior to becoming a Minister, Andrew McNamara has spoken often of the potential problems from the worldʼs reliance on fossil fuels. Andrew introduced the concept of Peak Oil to Queenslandʼs Parliament and has led the political debate on how Queensland and Australia can adapt to the rapidly approaching reality of demand for this diminishing resource permanently outstripping supply.

Mark Proegler Director Environmental Policy, BP Australia

Mark Proegler is leading BPʼs advocacy efforts for the development of legislation for emissions trading and complementary measures for low-carbon technologies in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Mark was previously deeply engaged in greenhouse gas emission market development, particularly in the EU and, more recently, in the US. Mark has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.

Following the presentations an invited panel of stakeholders will join our keynote speakers to discuss the issues and take questions.
