Speakers 

Dr Mark Diesendorf teaches and researches at the Institute of EnvironmentalStudies, UNSW. At various times he has been a Principal Research Scientist inCSIRO, Professor of Environmental Science at University of TechnologySydney, President of the Australia New Zealand Society for EcologicalEconomics and Director of the public-interest consulting and training business,Sustainability Centre. He is coeditor of the interdisciplinary book “HumanEcology, Human Economy: Ideas for an Ecologically Sustainable Future” andauthor of the recent book “Greenhouse Solutions with Sustainable Energy” 

Professor John Quiggin is a Federation Fellow in Economics and PoliticalScience at the University of Queensland. He is prominent both as a researcheconomist and as a commentator on Australian economic policy. He hasproduced nearly 1000 publications, including five books and over 300 journalarticles and book chapters, in fields including environmental economics, riskanalysis, production economics, and the theory of economic growth. He hasalso written on policy topics including climate change, micro-economic reform,privatisation, employment policy and the management of the Murray-Darlingriver system. Anna Keenan is a climate change campaigner wearing many hats. With abackground in physics and environmental philosophy, she was the youngest of85 Australians trained by Al Gore as part of The Climate Project in November2006. Anna coordinates the international activities of the Australian YouthClimate Coalition, and is currently working as Community Outreach Officer inSouth-East Queensland for the Australian Conservation Foundation,collaborating with the Queensland Public Sector Union to implement thegroundbreaking ‘Climate Heroes’ project.
